The summit combined presentations at Alkagesta’s headquarters with a visit to the Evos Malta terminal. The visit gave participants a closer look at the storage and logistics infrastructure behind the company’s Mediterranean trading operations. The organisers described the day as placing Malta at the centre of a conversation about commodity trading and trade finance.

A Year of Expansion

The company said its banking partnerships have supported a busy year of growth. Highlights included entry into the European aviation fuel market through access to the NATO Central Europe Pipeline System, its first crude oil transactions, and an increase in its Singapore operations to around 250,000 metric tonnes a month. Its biofuels desk signed a multi-year storage agreement in Antwerp and a five-year agreement for used cooking oil feedstock. Its fertiliser desk, meanwhile, worked through supply chain disruption in global agricultural markets.

Looking Ahead

Participants shared a commitment to long-term partnerships built on responsible growth, sound risk management and value creation across the global trading sector.
